10. #10: The Top 5 Reasons Why It's More Important Than Ever To Vote

As the UK is bracing itself for a Winter General Election on 12 December that has been triggered by the lack of progress with implementing # Brexit. We thought it only fitting to discuss and breakdown the popular misconceptions when it comes to voting, for example, young people are not engaged in #politics or the outcome of elections. In many cases across the world, politicians adopt a stance that young people should be seen and not heard, yet with the consequences of this election having severe ramifications for the UK and Europe, the spotlight has shifted in their favour.

In fact, many young people have vocalised their strong held views when it comes to #Climate change and #Equality and have taken to streets all across the globe for change.

There is no doubt that #brexit has divided the UK, the result of the referendum on June 23, 2016, revealing that the UK voted to leave the European Union by 51.89% for Leave to 48.11% for Remain, a margin of 3.78%. These tight margins evidenced in the splitting across the major political parties; Conservatives and Labour. People homes have also been divided by the effects of Brexit – so we have steered away from any party leanings or affiliations with a clear mandate to encourage you all to vote, because it does not matter who you vote for #Labour #Conservatives #Libdem or #Greenparty etc as long as the party is representing your views and addressing your needs.

Many people throughout history have fought for the right to Vote – so our unified call to action is for you all to go out on 12 December and cast your vote.
